What's a Home Inspection?
I would like to tell you a little about our services and how a typical inspection will go. We’ll inspect your single family, condominium or multifamily homes, regardless of their size and design. Also our ancillary services can inform you of your well water quality, septic system performance, radon testing and performance while also inspecting for wood destroying organisms and insects. If your wondering what we look at while inspecting a dwelling here’s how it typically goes, I ask that you safely follow me around and ask as many questions as you need to, I want you to be well informed. Let’s start at the roofing system and exterior move onto the mechanical systems such as electrical, heating, domestic water supply, then into basements and crawlspaces or concrete slabs whichever you have. In the entire interior we will be looking at floors, walls and ceilings along with windows and doors. In the kitchen we’ll cover the installed appliances, sinks, plumbing, cabinets and more. If there is a garage that is usually next and then onto then living spaces floor by floor which we’re checking outlets and switches, lights, heat and A/C ending up in the attic space. After the home has been thoroughly inspected we then like to review with our clients the conditions that we’ve found and you’re next steps. But the job isn’t done yet, within twenty four hours you will receive a detailed written report covering everything about the dwelling. A single family home inspection is typically about three hours long and of course the larger the home the longer the inspection. One of my guaranties is that while you own the home that we inspected you can contact me with any question about the home and I would be happy to discuss it with you. Whether you would like to remodel and would like to know “where do I begin” or something seems amiss and need guidance. I’m here to help; I don’t stop when I walk out the door.
